Lighting was yet again the focus for The Daily Telegraph/House & Garden Fair acknowledging the growing public interest in its versatility for transforming spaces and its importance in creating different moods within different rooms in the home. The John Cullen Light House, designed by Design Director Sally Storey, looked at different room sets including a hall, kitchen, bedroom, study and bathroom and explored how to create energy efficient lighting.

Starting with the drama of an almost black room where just features are illuminated and one has glimpses through to colour changing lights and dynamic effects beyond.  This led into two room sets, one to illustrate a kitchen and study, the other a bedroom and bathroom, with all the challenges they present.  Each were lit entirely differently and with today’s concern of CO2 ommissions, we provided examples of how to achieve Part L compliance, the new energy regulations for the home whether new build or refurbishment.

Sally Storey says "Lighting is so difficult to explain as it is the effect that is all important. This year we demonstrated the power of light including the latest energy efficient options in a dramatic and stunning space where visitors could experience changing moods and atmosphere at first hand."
